SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta: Empowering Students Through Informal Digital English Learning
We are excited to announce that
our school has integrated Informal Digital Learning of English (IDLE) into the
curriculum and after-school program. This initiative will be implemented
regularly to enhance our students’ English language skills through innovative
and engaging digital methods. By adopting IDLE, we aim to provide our students
with a dynamic and flexible learning environment that goes beyond traditional
classroom settings, fostering a love for learning and preparing them for future
success. We look forward to seeing the positive impact of this program on our
students’ language development and overall academic growth.
SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta Joins
the IDLE Module Program
SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta is
participating in the English learning project using the IDLE Module Program.
This project, initiated by Prof. Ju Seong Lee from The Education University of
Hong Kong in collaboration with Dr. Nur Arifah Drajati from Sebelas Maret
University Surakarta, aims to increase students' interest and motivation in
learning English through engaging digital activities.
The IDLE Module Program offers a
variety of learning opportunities, such as watching movies and TV series,
listening and singing along to songs, playing interactive games, and reading
webtoons and anime in English. By incorporating these popular media into the
